Woot! My Polka Pants

Hi, I haven't blogged in a while. I have been busy traveling, and teething. I had a great Thanksgiving weekend with my family, and my aunt got me these cutest polka dot pants. Such a perfect match with my fav sweatshirt! A very casual and cozy outfit for a snowy Tuesday!

Chambray Shirt

Not having a chambray shirt in my daughter's closet was bugging me a little, so I finally bought this shirt from babyGap toddler boys section. Why not? We all could use some menswear-inspired fashion. Paired it up with H&M stripes sweater with cute button details and black pants. Great layering idea too for the chilly days.

Houndstooth Pants & Floral Top

These H&M houndstooth stretch pants are my favorite! They fit so perfectly, and the belt is simply adorable. In fact, this outfit is one of my favorite outfits for my daughter. The floral Zara top in a different combination can be seen here. The blue Baby Gap boots can also be seen here. She wore this outfit to a mama-baby hot chocolate date to our favorite cafe a couple of days ago.

Geometric Jacket

Mama bought this jacket a few months ago in anticipation that it will fit me in fall just because she loved it so much. And, it does fit me perfectly now. I bought these blue boots this past weekend, and have been wearing them almost everyday since then. Aren't these so cute?

Printed Pants and Peter Pan Collar

Howdy, hope you all had a good weekend. I did. This is a simple outfit I wore to my day care last week. I balanced my bunny print pants with a plain top, and wore a layer of peter pan collar white top inside. I think I am on trend with my bunny print pants here, as I've been seeing this print around a lot lately.

Stripes & Floral Pocket

How can you go wrong wearing a striped top with a floral pocket? Mama just HAD to buy me this top from Paris.

Yellow Heart

You've been reading my sister's posts, but today is my turn. I recently turned 9 months. I am teething and haven't started crawling yet. I am sure I will catch up soon. I wore this outfit to a play date. I love this top, and this is my go-to outfit this fall. Mama didn't iron it, so please excuse the wrinkles but I think it's still pretty cute.

Mixed Prints

This is my outfit from this past Saturday. I went to the park with my parents and baby sister, and shared a chicken and tomato flat bread with mama. It's getting chillier in Boston now, so I had to put on a jacket.

My mom hasn't bought me a Halloween costume yet, and that's making me nervous. I have a party to attend tomorrow, and I am trick-or-treating pretty much all morning and evening on Thursday. I can't wait for all those candies though! Yumm.

Faux Fur, Stripes and Chevron

Hello world, this is my first blog post, and I am very excited! My mom and I are very inspired by Parisian fashion right now due to our recent trip to Paris. Hence, breton stripes and faux fur vest for my first outfit post seem so befitting. I wore this outfit to a recent play date with my friends. One hour into the play date, I spilled chocolate milk all over my shirt, and my mom had to change it. Oh well, that's what moms are for.

Summer Favorites!

These were more like spring favorites; however, getting a chance to post these now. I have been enjoying these chevron ankle pants lately. Working on finding round sunglasses next. What's your favorite summer go to item?

Blog Better Boston: Style Summit

I attended Blog Better Boston Style Summit, a conference for Boston-based fashion and lifestyle bloggers, last Saturday. It was a great day filled with lots of learning and networking. A hand-picked roster of awesome speakers (Kristen of Boston Fashionista, Tieka of Selective Potential, Smita of Hogger & Co. to name a few) shared their insights on creating content calendar, media kit; working with brands; style elements for blogs and several other topics to make bloggers blog better. #BBBos was held at Boston.com headquarters, and ladies enjoyed complimentary manicures, shopping, goodies, networking and lots of chitchatting.

I was busy doing all of the above and hence, sharing only a few pictures. It was great hanging out with my blogger buddies!

Get Shorty

As most of you may know by now, Joe Fresh, a stylish Canadian designer collection is now available at JCPenney. I had only seen Joe Fresh stuff online but was psyched to personally see and shop their collection. Getting into my car and driving to the burbs is an ordeal for me, but I somehow managed to get to JCPenney at the Natick Collection a couple of weeks ago. And let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised to see a great collection at a very affordable price! The collection had a very cool and casual vibe, with pieces you would love to just throw on and get going this summer.

Among gingham shirts and printed pants (my favorites this season, and more on these later), were print and jacquard shorts that were absolutely gorgeous. I could seriously live in these shorts for the entire season and not complain.

Late Season Picker-Upper

Looking for a late season picker-upper? A fur scarf or a fur vest is your answer. Wrap a fur scarf around your neck for an easy chic look this spring.

Fur has really been around this winter, and while I didn't really think of fur as my kind of thing, I am starting to love the idea of owning a fur scarf or a fur vest. These pieces can also be a good starting point if you want to ease your way into the whole fur idea.

I am fixating on a dark olive green fur scarf that I am having a hard time finding. Ideas anybody?

Pattern Play

Pattern mixing done beautifully! Don't you just love these Suno patterns? My favorites are #1, 2 and 3 anti clockwise.

Current Combo Crush + Gingham Style

I am swooning over this color combo: teal/turquoise (?) and picnic red. Emerald might be Pantone's color of 2013 but I am digging this teal/turquoise. Pair it with red, and you are golden!

This Prada outfit itself is totally amaze. I mean, look at that coat! And gingham checks and metallic sandals to boot. It's like black velvet icing on double dark chocolate cake!

Op op op op oppan Gingham style.

Quirky Knits

Get ready for temperatures in 50s and 60s by indulging in some quirky (and chic) sweaters/jumpers. Sweater #3 with cat eyeglasses is already on its way to my closet! Cannot wait! These sweaters can be paired with jeans, cropped pants, pencil skirts, shorts, and most things that sit on your waist.

The refreshing colors and patterns will give you a good break from the usual solid color sweaters you've always owned.

Checked In

Besides nursing my newborn, my only other hobby these days is gawking at street style pictures from New York, London and Milan fashion weeks. I am addicted to street style, and the addiction gets even worse when fashion weeks are in progress.

While getting my daily dose of street style from NYFW, I couldn't help but notice how 'major' checks were throughout the week. I wrote about this checked sweater from J.W. Anderson's pre-fall 2012 collection back in August 2012 but I could never lay my hands on one. Now winter is about to fade away, so if not a sweater, I might be tempted to indulge in J.Crew's Cafe' windowpane-check Capri pants. I am going to be all about graphic patterns and bold prints and colors this spring/summer people!

Shawl Collar Jacket

Coveting this jacket from Lela Rose Pre-Fall 2013. I love pretty much everything about this jacket: fabric, texture, colors, collar, and cut. I, of course, would not wear it with this pair of pants. I would wear it on a skinny denim or pant of some sort in a darkish color. Pointy toe flats or pumps will look just perfect.

MFA Fashion Photography

I attended an artist demonstration with Boston's famous fashion photographer Tracy Aiguier at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston back in November 2012. It was a great opportunity to experience the world of fashion photography, something I had wanted to do for a while. The outfits were designed by the students of the School of Fashion Design in Boston, and some students modeled their own designs.

Tracy made the entire demo very interactive, and also invited volunteers from the audience to shoot. She kindly offered her camera but I was lucky to have mine so I could try my hand at fashion photography for the first time. How exciting!

I ended this awesome evening by visiting the Mario Testino exhibit "In Your Face," and enjoyed his compelling images. By the way people, you must watch the exhibit if you haven't already. It ends on February 3.

Thanks, again, Tracy and the lovely models for giving me an opportunity to shoot!

Pointedly Stylish

It's 16°F in Boston right now, and all I am trying to do is think of spring to keep those winter blues away. I am thinking spring coats, and shoes, and to be more specific pointy 'gwen' flats by kate spade.

I have been eyeing these for a while now. It's so hard to pick a color. I would like these in both colors. Gold and silver accessories are my go-to pieces (unlike most people) for those five-minute dressing days when I only have time to put on my clothes and shoes, and to pick up my bag and storm out of the house. They have the power of making the simplest outfit look stylish in an instant! Being a versatile piece, this can be worn with most outfits and can be enjoyed in morning, noon, and night! I just know one thing, once I own these, I will use them a LOT!

Which color would you buy?
