Toddler Girls Spring Transitional Clothing

I don't think even the weather can stop my N from wearing skirts anymore! "I don't want to wear this," "These are boy pants," "I want to wear skirts and dresses." This is how most our mornings go these days, unless, I am successful at completely distracting her into doing something else or watching another episode of Peppa Pig!

Pairing this floral swing top with army-green quilted skirt with leggings is a great way to transition into spring.

Pencil-y skirts are obviously not an ideal choice for an active kid like her so I save skirts for occasional outings where she is not going to be at a playground or biking etc. But sometimes I give up reasoning with her and just let her be in an outfit she wants to be in.

Love these two...just doing their thang.

Toddler Girls Fashion: Striped Anorak Spring Jacket

Found this awesome Anorak jacket for O a couple of weeks ago.  The jacket has cute details and a side zipper opening. It's a really great buy for under $20. I could have seriously bought one in my size too if they had one!

Toddler Girls Fashion: A perfect transition quilted bomber jacket

We are back to freezing cold after an amazing week in 70+ degree temperatures. Boo. Thank God there are at least cute clothes, such as this amazing bomber jacket, to fall back on. I got this on sale for $10! I know, I can't believe it either. It's light weight, trendy, and so perfect for spring. N loved it and cooked me a nice breakfast in her kitchen this morning before leaving for school.

Toddler girls summer dressing: Miami Vibe (Outfit 2 of 5)

Happy Monday morning! I wrote about summer looks I like for my girls' wardrobe last week for our upcoming vacation. Here is the another look I created. I like to mix different styles, labels, and prints and include pieces in different price ranges.

I tried to incorporate breton stripes tee, graphic tee, and printed and solid shorts for a simple and chic look. I used the same sandals I used in toddler girls summer dressing outfit #1.

My general idea while picking clothes for them is to pick basic pieces that can be mixed and matched and overall outfits that will keep them comfortable all day long.

(Sur) torial: A perfect black textured crossbody

We all need an excellent go-to black bag in our lives. I had been looking for one until I came across this back in December. I have been cooked up inside pretty much all winter, living and working at home so I haven't had a chance to use this yet, which is sad because now I am dreaming of all the colorful crossbody bags I would like this spring.

But that's the whole point of having a good black bag. It's always in and can be worn year round. I love this bag, and trust me, it looks even better in person. The textures, the details, and especially the shape. It's not too small, and not too large. Just big enough to carry all your snazzy essentials.

Toddler Girls Fashion: Checked Henley Top & Zara Pants

As you probably know by now, I am a huge fan of bright colors and bold prints. And this year's dull and dreary winter has a big role to play in why I am only getting attracted to everything bright and colorful lately.

But I always like switching things up, and having a balanced wardrobe. Which is why I picked a bit of an unusual combination and muted earthy tones for O's outfit today. I know, I know, it's still 26 degrees outside but smart layering and bundling up in the stroller really helps. And anyway, we are all getting our closets ready for spring and summer now, right?

I love a good cotton or linen Henley shirt. All three of us have pretty sensitive skins, so even in the summer, I try to buy thin full sleeves cotton tops for my girls to protect their hands from the sun. And I think this checked Henley top is the cutest!

These cool corduroy pants have cute details and are skinny enough but not too snug for a wiggly toddler. I think O looks happy in this outfit. Don't you think?

Toddler Girls Summer Dressing: Miami Vibe (Outfit 1 of 5)

Yes, you guessed it right. We are finally getting ready to get away from this brutal Boston winter. The girls are really excited to not have to put on a million layers before leaving home every single time.

I created these casual, summery looks for them. Cool graphic tees with shorts and sandals. There is something so refreshing, so cheery about these outfits. I can't even.

I'll be doing a series of summer outfits for our upcoming trip so be sure to check back for more toddler girls summer style.

(Sur) torial: How to look Retro Chic

This is a fun printed dress for spring/summer. Since the dress has a bright, bold print, I paired it up with very basic, neutral accessories. The key is to still draw attention to the dress while wearing complementing colors in your accessories. I picked a pale blue clutch so it's subtle and yet adds a nice contrast to the outfit.

This is also a very versatile dress and can be worn to multiple places -- work, brunch, party or even dinner. Throw on some heels and tights if you must, otherwise it's good to go as it is.

Little Girls Fashion: Uniqlo Lisa Larson Cat Graphic Tunic

This Lisa Larson graphic cat tunic from Uniqlo was love at first sight! Such a fun print and a very comfortable design with cute pocket details. I know the pockets aren't really visible in these pictures but it's a purrfect tunic for lounging and umm jumping!

Also, it's an appropriate outfit for this week as (calling all Big Bang Theory fans here) I've been singing...

"Soft kitty, Warm kitty,
Little ball of fur.
Happy kitty, Sleepy kitty,
Purr Purr Purr"

...to N and O before bedtime since a week! Yup, thats whats up at our house around 8 p.m. every night these days!
