Children's Fashion Blog: Girls Jacquard Dress

This little love of mine is THREE years old today! Whoa, how did this happen!?

For her birthday photo shoot at the studio, she was more interested in pistachios than pictures. And rightfully so. Why stand and pose for mama when there are a million better things to do in this little curious world. Right? And anyway, it's so fun photographing them in their own element (umm, moody moments)!

She was really interested in wearing this dress, though. Just until about a few weeks ago, she would be completely OK with me picking her outfit, and would never fuss about wearing a skirt or a dress. Not any more, nuh-uh. She wants to wear what her sister wears and thinks wearing skirts and dresses is cool. I have never bought velvety jacquard dresses for any of them before but I saw this dress, and I could just picture Ona wear it! It's so her!

Kids Fashion Blog: Mix and Match Mania

I have blogged this mix and match kids style earlier, but just wanted to give another up, close and personal look here. This top is one of my favorite pieces in N's closet. The fabric feels so soft and the color combination and style are so unique. Such a simple and sophisticated look! What do you think?

Top: Raspberry Plum available here
Skort: J. Crew

Children's Fashion Blog: Girls Pinafore Dress

Pinafore dresses look so adorable on little girls. And this dress is so springy and cute! There are multiple ways to wear and style this depending on the weather.

- with or without tights/leggings
- with a peter pan collar top or a simple round neck top
- with a cute denim or bomber jacket
- with flats, boots, or oxford flats

We styled it with a simple chambray shirt, and love the way it looks. I would have ideally paired it with a white peter pan collar top, but N decided chambray so chambray it was! This dress is currently on sale at Zara* so there is still time to grab it if you love it as much as we do.

*Sometimes Zara kids sizes run small so just keep that in mind. N is 4.5 (and average height) and this dress is size 6. I did not buy this online so just by looking at the dress I could tell, size 6 would fit her perfectly.

I am still loving everything in Bobo Choses' SS16 collection.  The cold temps in Boston have me dreaming of the days where tank tops and shorts take the place of down coats.  I can't wait to mix and match these cool colors and styles, and hang out on a warm coastline. Have you bought your Bobo yet?

Children's Fashion Blog: Breton or bust

We are a huge fan of Breton stripes around here!  It's always been a part of my and the girls' closets. So obviously when I saw this classic yet trendy striped dress with pleats and pockets, I had to have it! It's such a simple, no-fuss dress and looks great on both girls. It's actually N's size but O loves wearing it too. The dress is also very versatile and can be accessorized with flats, boots, loafers, and sneakers.

Dress from H&M.  Shop similar styles herehere, and here.

I am a mix and match maniac so I styled this dress with my favorite neon girls loafers to add a pop of color!

Add a denim or quilted jacket for chillier days.

Children's Fashion Blog: One Skirt, Three Outfits

Sometimes it's hard to change up an outfit you keep going back to because you love it so much. A simple switch in a top can bring an old piece back to life and make it feel fresh again. Here are three similar ways to style this cute skirt, so it can be worn frequently without feeling too repetitious. And creative styling is also a very practical approach when it comes to kids' clothing as they grow up fast and sizes change so often.

Children's Style and Fashion Blog: Mix and Match Monday

A few favorites mixed and matched. I love this unique color palette -- kind of reminds me of Pantone 2016 Color Report. This confetti top is so feminine and fun for little girls, and the textured color block skirt adds simple sophistication to the outfit. Rounding off the look with comfortable sandals.

It's snowing in Boston as we speak, but I am sure it's warm and springy somewhere in the world : )
