Boston kids fashion: Kodomo Boston Launches August 4

"Kodomo — the Japanese word for "child" — is a beautiful new Boston shop offering playful and stylish clothing, shoes, and accessories for babies, kids, and tweens. Kodomo partners with independent designers from around the globe who work thoughtfully and consciously to make the fun styles loved by all Kodomo littles."

Kodomo is finally (almost) here to take the kids fashion scene in Boston by storm! In exactly a week from today, you'll be able to find the most unique and chic kids clothes and accessories right here in Boston's South End. We were lucky to get a sneak peek of some of the coolest finds last evening. We are crushing on everything, from clothes to toys, but the Sketch.Inc for Lucie Kass hand painted figurines (I mean...) and unicorn  accessories are our favorites! I can't even wait to see their entire collection once it officially launches next week! Meanwhile, hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

Kids fashion blog: Lights, Camera, Studio Time!

This was a very special "test" shoot with Neve and Ona at my studio. It was a test shoot because they were helping me test lighting for an important shoot the following week. It was a special one because it was their last shoot at this particular studio! Yes, our studio is moving! Our family is moving 20 minutes outside of Boston in the end of August, and so is our studio (we are currently hunting for the perfect studio space)! So it's business as usual, just from the next town over : )

From genuine smiles to fake ones to a mad look, they pretty much covered an entire spectrum of emotions. They can stand still (and look happy!) for 1 or 2 pictures max. Changing backdrops, tweaking the light  set up - forget about it! And I don't blame them - running around in the studio, and admiring their own artwork which was displayed in the studio was way more exciting than standing at one boring spot!

I am sharing a few of my favorites! We did 2-3 outfit changes so rest of the looks will be coming up soon in subsequent blog posts. See you guys soon!

Yellow dress: Gap
Cotton top: Soma (India)

Vintage Fun

My girls and I had a fun, impromptu photo shoot the other morning as they modeled some adorable vintage clothing. These pieces are ones my grandmother had saved from when I was about 2-3 years old and now they barely fit my growing girls! They were getting dressed for school, goofing around like usual, and I just had to capture them in these outfits one last time.
