This past Saturday I had the pleasure of attending a special event at newly launched South End store, kodomo, in collaboration with West Coast kids' shoe brand AKID, known for its comfortable and unique styles. Not only was the event lovely, but they were celebrating AKID's launch in Boston by helping a nobel cause. During the event, the owners donated 500 pairs of shoes to Home for Little Wanderers. This is a nonprofit providing services and programs for childhood and family development for families living in at-risk circumstances.
I was able to meet Ashleigh Dempster, the founder of AKID, as well as Meredith and Nancy from Home for Little Wanderers -- all very inspiring women!
The store was bustling with shoppers enjoying hot cups of espresso and Blackbird Doughnuts with their littles while trying on all sorts of stylish AKID shoes. One could even get their shoes monogrammed by Lettering by Liz, right in the store if they wished to do so. It was truly an enjoyable afternoon with lots of good conversation, shopping, and positive vibes.
Thanks for another great event Jasmine and ladies at kodomo -- always a pleasure to visit the store and see you all!
