Surabhi + The Blog

Born and spoiled rotten in India for 24 years, I moved to the US 12 years ago to reunite with my high school sweetheart (now husband) and to study PR and Communications in NY. A few degrees and jobs later, I am now a Boston-based family, wedding and lifestyle photographer and fashion blogger.

My style is eclectic. It's a unique mix of affordable, chic, practical, and experimental. I describe it as snappy casual/casual chic. Whatever you want to call it. Potato potahto tomato tomahto. Actually let's call the whole thing (Sur) torial.

I am passionate about mixing and matching pieces (high and low), and putting together outfits in an unexpected way. I love it when one's style stands out loud and proud, looks curated, but is relatable (and fits in) at the same time.

This blog started off as a women's fashion blog. However, I now write about both women's fashion and modern and unique children's/girls' fashion, and share my finds and styling tips. Both my daughters (now 4.5 and 3), and the whimsical, fun, and creative world of children's fashion, truly inspire me. And I can't wait to see how my daughters' own styles develop and evolve.

Even though I love dressing up, my everyday attire is not dramatic at all. I live in my jeans, comfy shoes, and a messy bun. And that's what fits in most with my lifestyle as a mom and a photographer.

To me, having discerning fashion sense or style is empowering, it's a form of communication. It's not just fashion. It's creativity, it's finding one's uniqueness and taking pride in it. It's trying, learning, failing, improvising, getting inspired, inspiring others, and keeping Chin Up Chic On.

• As our girls grow up, besides encouraging them to live a life full of passion and creativity, we strive to raise respectful, confident, humble human beings with a solid core.
